The Bowen Technique Treatment

A gentle, hands on, fascial release therapy that is suitable for everyone.

The Bowen Technique or Bowen Fascial Release Therapy consists of three moves; skin slack, gentle pressure and a rolling movement over the fascia.

A unique element to the Bowen treatment is after a series of moves the therapist leaves the room for a few minutes. This prompts the body to make subtle and fine adjustments to restore structural integrity, reduce pain and anxiety and bring the body back into balance.

Most clients report a sense of relaxation, better mobility and well-being at the end of a treatment.

The Actual Bowen Treatment

With Bowen Technique, I am happy to work either directly onto skin or through light clothing.

The first session will consist of a consultation during which I will take notes about you, your lifestyle, conduct any assessments required and then carry out a Bowen Therapy. Treatments are normally about an hour. Every person is unique and therefore treatments and times are tailored to the individual.

An initial course of three treatments is recommended to see how the client responds to treatment. Some clients will experience instant pain relief, whereas with others the body may respond over the next few days, but normally even chronic conditions will see relief with an initial set of three treatments.

It is recommended that clients are receiving no other physical therapies whilst being treated with the Bowen Technique.
